Organic flowers are also edible and can be safely topped on cakes and desserts alike without harming guests!

Investing in a beautiful wedding gown is the best way to go green for your wedding! Having a classic gown that can be used for future generations is a great way to go green without feeling deprived. A gown that can be passed down encourages less future spending and is also friendly for the environment.

We're going to the chapel and we're....

Before wedding planners, before exotic destination weddings and before the elaborate themes and designs there was the chapel. I recently recieved a request for a last-minute wedding (last minute meaning 24 hours) and while we were totally prepared to rise to the challenge, it occurred to me that this type of request was at one point in our history not uncommon.

During simpler times, there would be an announcement of an engagement and a wedding shortly to follow. In fact, I recently learned that in past times the purpose of a honeymoon was to consumate the marriage away from the family home where the newlyweds would reside. WOW! The entire purpose of your post-wedding vacation was to have sex in private?!?!

Anyway, the special request that we recieved got me thinking....why have people abandoned chapel style weddings? How did we go from the Chapel to the Castle? Perhaps the thought of a small chapel with open availability reaks of old carpet and lingering marboro's. Or Maybe it's that the idea seems cheap and taudry. What ever the idea, maybe it's time to reconsider.

Times have changed and with the economic downturn, I find myself constantly sharing ideas with Brides-to-be about how to still have a fab wedding on a shoestring budget. I'm here to tell you today that if you're on a tight budget and are a traditional bride at heart, you might consider some of the affordable, up-to-date chapel options that we were able to find last minute with a super-tight budget.
