The holidays are over and it's excruciatingly cold out but you still want to have a little fun without the breaking the bank or braving the elements. Here's an awesome idea...get the girls together for a secret re-gifting party!
Surely you've got a least one gift that you we're hoping not to get (think holiday sweater, crocs, nicknacks, kitchen appliances). You know what they say...One woman's junk....is another woman's treasure!
Since the idea is to do this in secret, rather than mailing elaborate invitations call your girlfriends personally to invite them. (No e-mail) Remember the key to keeping this naughty, secret soiree is manuverability. Invite them over on a Thursday or Friday night. And since this party is all about sharing, ask everyone to bring a bottle of wine or a sweet treat.
If you want to take this girly get together a step further make it a tropical or beach themed event. Mix up some frozen drinks like margaritas served with chips and guacamole or even quesadillas (everyone loves them) and have a fiesta!
Who get's what? Everyone brings something of the same value i.e. a $20-$30 gift (oh, gift cards are invited to the party as well). Get some labels or posted notes and write a number on each label, beginning with #1 and ending with however many people are present at your gathering. Then put the labels into a jar or bowl. Have everyone select a number from the jar. Whatever number you select is the order in which you'll be able to pick from the re-gifted items.
